For Vicara, valorizing native grape varieties is a mission that drives us to constantly do better, honoring a heritage that admits no compromises.
Grignolino: The Soul of Vicara
Grignolino is the heart of our identity—a grape variety with a distinct character capable of defying time. We have been its custodians since 1974, when Giuseppe Ravizza was among the original signatories of the Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC.
This unwavering dedication led us to a historic milestone in 2015: we were the first ever to be awarded the Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso for this variety, confirming its standing among Italy’s finest wines.
As founding members of Monferace, we celebrate its extraordinary longevity through aging processes dedicated to our reserves. An extraordinary complexity reflected in our historical archives, where we carefully preserve bottles from the past; among these, the 1989 vintage stands out—the first Grignolino aged in barrels, which today is our Uccelletta Monferace.
Barbera: A Territorial Certainty
A symbol of Piedmont since the 17th century, our Barbera transforms power into elegance. We produce it with the ambition of honoring the structure that made it famous back in the 1800s, capable of faithfully telling the story of every single clod of earth.

A proud grape and close relative of Nebbiolo, Freisa combines resilience and finesse. A historic variety of our territory, we cultivate it to enhance its original temperament, certain that time will reveal its uncommon depth and nuances.

Historically a benchmark among local white wines, Cortese is our bet to showcase the luminosity of Monferrato.
We work to ensure this native grape finds its clearest expression, bringing a mineral and vibrant elegance to the glass.
